Shown at the 1948 London Motor Show and built until 1954, the XK120 began life as an open two-seater (OTS) and was joined in the early 1950s by the Fixed Head Coupé and the Drophead Coupé. Power comes from Jaguar's 3.4-litre twin-cam straight-six, the engine family that carried the marque for decades. The earliest aluminium-bodied cars on an ash frame are the most sought after, while the steel-bodied 1951–1954 cars, particularly in Special Equipment trim with wire wheels, are what most enthusiasts actually chase.

Corrosion in the sills, floors, A-posts and lower door edges is the usual trouble, as are heavily rebuilt cars. Check that chassis and engine numbers match the paperwork and that panel gaps make sense. Looking for a Jaguar XK120 for sale, or thinking of selling one? Bidders Highway handles both.
