Basic Information & BackgroundThe Volvo Amazon is an icon in Swedish car history, and also in the world as it is the first series-produced car that was delivered with a 3-point seat belt. The car was used daily until 1973 and was well taken care of. When the couple worked abroad for long periods between 1973-1999, the car was allowed to "rest" for long periods and was then parked in the garage. In 1999, the car received veteran car status and was reworked by Tommy. The car has also participated in the Swedish King's Rally 6 times! In 2011 the car was sold to the new owner who thought it would be a perfect tow truck for his Mediterranean blue vintage boat.The car is very well documented and all information is available since the car was new. Original receipt, all inspection papers, service book/warranty book, manual and repair receipts. The car has only done 17,800 km, but the meter was replaced in 2011 when the old one was worn out and the original meter is available and of course included. The car is undercarriage treated at regular intervals and only driven in winter for two years, which means that the car is in a very nice condition. The paintwork is still shiny and nice, there are some small blemishes and minor repairs, but minimal considering the age of the car. The original rims have been refurbished and newer tires are fitted.Interior. The interior is completely original and untouched. There are absolutely signs that the car has been used, i.a. some sun fading on the seats and a small crack in the back seat but other than that in very good condition.Mechanical: Vibrant and easy-starting B20 engine. Clutch/brakes etc feel good. The overdrive box works flawlessly. Recently replaced radiator and thorough carburetor for more reliable operation.Service historyThere is no service book for the car, but it has been well maintained when the car has been used.
