Basic Information & Background
The Volvo Amazon is, as most people know, an icon in Swedish car history for several reasons, and there are still a lot of them on our roads! The market for nice restored items has taken off in recent years and this is a perfect item for someone looking to buy a nice drivable original car for a very reasonable price.
This is a Swedish-sold car with only 7 owners (incl. car dealer) since new. It is a nice unrestored original car that is almost rust-free apart from some attack around the headlights which is a common problem with these. There are signs that some repainting has taken place for too long in isolated places. The car is very well documented with guaranteed miles of 19,400 miles with inspection report saved from 1968 as well as original service book, instruction book and also documentation from purchase in 1970 at Liljas Bil with warranty certificate. Spare parts that have been replaced over the years as well as repairs are written down in the booklet that comes with the car. It's an incredibly nice car that deserves love and can be restored or driven as is!
Condition
Exterior: A nice and unrestored original car. Straight and fine in the bodywork with very little rust, i.a. around the headlights which is a common problem. Please see our detailed pictures for more info.
Interior. The original interior is in good condition and according to information from before completely original. There are definitely traces of use and age/patina but can be considered to be in honestly good condition for age!
Mechanical: Vibrant and easy-starting B18. Clutch/gearbox/brakes feel good and the car is well looked after. There are no known faults with the engine or drivetrain.
Service history
Original service book and all instructions are included with the car, 2 keys and many inspection reports that go back to the first inspection in 1968. The last inspection was 2021/11 and is now inspection exempt.
