A very beautiful Rolls-Royce 20/25 with coachwork by Thrupp & Maberly. The car is in outstanding condition and has won awards, including at the Villa d'Este concours in Italy. Well known to us, it has recently been updated with an overdrive gearbox, making it even more usable. It was recently driven to England and back and performs very well. It now has both U.K. and Swedish registration. Previously maintained exemplarily by English Car Care since it came to Sweden in 2007. In 1931 Rolls-Royce bought Bentley, and from then on the cars were very similar to each other. ------------------------------------------------------ Exterior: This 1933 Rolls-Royce 20/25 HP for sale is a Thrupp & Maberly Three-Position Drophead Coupé. It must be one of the most beautiful pre-war cars, with its low windscreen and coupé-like convertible top. It looks sporty and fast yet can still transport four people comfortably. Thanks to the clever top construction, the fabric always sits nicely taut. The two-tone paintwork is in excellent condition and suits the car perfectly. The chrome is also in very good condition, and those big P100 headlights likely signaled to other drivers that someone important was coming up behind. The very large wheels have recently been shod with new rubber, and the newly fitted soft top has a very good, taut fit.
Interior: The interior of this 1933 Rolls-Royce 20/25 by Thrupp & Maberly has a wonderful patina. The front seat cushions have been replaced; otherwise it retains its original leather. All instruments function correctly, and the detailed dashboard looks very good. The Three-Position Drophead Coupé seats four comfortably, though the rear-seat view is best with the top fully open. When the top is down, there is a perfectly fitting convertible cover.
The beautiful Rolls-Royce by Thrupp & Maberly Engine: This 1933 Rolls-Royce 20/25 HP is surprisingly easy to drive! Honestly, I do not think I have ever driven a car this old that was so effortless and pleasurable to drive. The engine is so quiet you can hardly hear it running. It is a 3.6-litre straight six. The car has a 12-volt electrical system and central lubrication. The engine was fully rebuilt approximately 20,000 miles ago. All major work carried out on the car is documented. In 2010 the clutch received a complete overhaul. The car has been used over the years and properly serviced and lubricated every season. The most recent service was in May 2023.
