The De Ville began life as a top-trim hardtop within the Series 62 before becoming a model line of its own at the end of the 1950s, sitting just below the Eldorado in Cadillac's range. The 1959 and 1960 cars are the most recognisable, with towering fins, stacked lamps and acres of chrome, while the mid-sixties models grew lower and squarer, with big V8s and an effortless ride.
