The Mercedes-Benz SSK was built between 1928 and 1932. SSK stood for Super Sport Kurz, which translates to Super Sport Short, i.e. for its short wheelbase. The car was almost 50cm shorter than the Model S on which it was based, and performed well in both Hillclimb and racing. As a fun curiosity, the SSK is the last car Ferdinand Porsche designed before he started his own car brand.

Equipment and options

The car is spartanly equipped like most cars from the 70s. It does, however, include both a convertible and a tonneau cover for the car.

Condition

The car comes in really nice overall condition which reflects the low mileage. No renovations have been carried out on the body and it is described as spotless and free of rust. The paintwork is in good condition according to information. However, there are small marks on e.g. the bumper, according to the seller. There are no comments on lighting.

The interior of the car is also in good condition. Wood panels and door sides both look nice. According to the current owner, the entire interior has been changed. Instrumentation and controls are faultless and everything works as it should.

The engine, a VW 1300, comes in a good if well cared for condition. The car has been warmed up every two months during the time it has been standing. Leaks have not been noted from either the box or engine. Brakes are also described as being in good condition. The spoked rims come in good condition without damage and the tires with a tread depth of approx. 4 mm.

Service history

The last service was carried out on 20220505. Over the years the car has received new wear-and-tear parts.

Summary

An exciting and eye-catching car with high build quality and low mileage. An absolute head-turner for those who want to drive something unique!
