The BMW M5 of the E39 series is considered one of the brand's most well-balanced M cars. The engine, with internal code S62B50, is a 4.9-liter, high-revving V8 with individual throttle bodies, officially rated at 400 hp and 500 Nm, coupled to a 6-speed manual Getrag gearbox. Modifications and improvements: Rims recently refurbished and painted in BMW Felgensilber 144. Rear exhaust system from Ferrita for discreetly improved tone. New original windshield 2024. New emblems, grill and headlight components from BMW 2024–2025. Michelin tires with good tread depth. Differential overhauled 2025 with new oil seals and oil. Gearbox overhauled 2020 with new oil seals and release bearings.
Condition
Body and paint: Generally good condition. There are some minor door dings but nothing noticeable according to the seller. Minor stone chips in the front and on the roof just above the windshield. Given the mileage and the limited number of stone chips, the car is estimated to have been repainted or repainted earlier in its life. Moldings, grill and emblems are very fresh, several parts recently replaced at BMW.
Glass and lighting: Good condition with normal wear. New original glass installed in 2024. Headlights and headlight lenses in very good condition, parts renewed 2024–2025. Xenon lights work as stated.
Interior: Very good overall impression. Minimal wear on seats, steering wheel and controls according to the seller. Headlining in good condition without sagging.
Wheels and tires: Original rims renovated and painted in BMW Rim Silver 144. Michelin tires with good tread depth and limited use after installation.
Mechanics and function: Engine in good condition according to the seller. Brakes replaced in 2018 at approximately 235,000 km but there is a slight vibration from the front brakes when braking. Gearbox overhauled in 2020 with oil seals and release bearings. Differential overhauled in 2025 with new oil seals and oil. Electrical system, central locking with new electric motors and battery updated in recent years. No known faults on the drivetrain.

The car was temporarily deregistered during the winter season, which is very common in Sweden for enthusiast cars.
It was not driven in winter conditions and was taken off the road to avoid unnecessary vehicle tax and exposure to salt. The car was re-registered again for the driving season.

The seller, Stromiq, has now uploaded photos of the jacking points in the "mechanics" photo album. They are solid and in good condition, no rust issues.
Hur ser det ut med reparationer/underhåll tex på Vanosenheterna? Är serviceboken original? Frågar mest eftersom det finns ingen leveransstämpel i den och att det är många mil mellan inkörningskontrollen (3600mil) till första servicen.
Det syns att den har blivit omlackad, har ni mätt upp lacken på den ifall det är någon del som "sticker" ut i tjocklek? Sen vet jag inte om bilderna gör sig rätt men det ser ut som att ytan är lite "apelsinskal/sliprepor på sina ställen?

Vad gäller VANOS finns det inga dokumenterade reparationer eller åtgärder mig veterligen.
Jag kan inte med säkerhet säga om serviceboken är original från ny eller om något kan saknas tidigt i bilens liv, men jag kan undersöka om BMW eventuellt har någon historik som inte är noterad i boken.
Bilen bör vara omlackad. Med tanke på ålder och ca 250 000 km är det enligt mig inte rimligt att förvänta sig originallack i detta skick, och helhetsintrycket är väldigt fint. Jag har inte mätt lacktjocklek och har inte noterat något som sticker ut. Inget jag upplever som störande och inga sliprepor vad jag kan se.

According to the service book, 2013 says byte motor. Or what engine are they referring to?

Unfortunately, I don’t have any further details or documentation clarifying what exactly was replaced, so I can only confirm what is written.
Is the car sold as accident free?
9000€ of maintenance since 2017 so 9 years seems to be not too much! Less than a €/km.
The rims seem to have marks besides being described as refurbished.
For clarity – To my knowledge, there is no documentation indicating any major accident damage.
– Documented service and maintenance exceed SEK 100,000 since 2017, during which the car has covered approximately 15,000 km.
– The wheels have been refurbished and painted in BMW Felgensilber 144. What may appear as a mark on the images (front left) is, in my assessment, most likely residue from tire shine rather than damage.
