Basic information and history
The E34-generation BMW M5 represents a time when M cars were still finished by hand in Garching, with a focus on precision and long-distance capability. Model year 1993 means the 3.8‑liter S38 inline-six with individual throttle bodies, a five-speed manual gearbox, and the model-typical EDC suspension with rear self‑levelling. The combination of a high‑revving naturally aspirated engine and a chassis with fine control makes this M5 a cherished driver’s car even today.
This example was imported from Belgium and is stated to be in original specification with no performance modifications. The odometer shows 195,000 kilometers. The car is finished in Daytona Violet, paired here with a Silbergrau/Silbergrau Hell bicolor interior. The body was repainted in the early 2000s and several exterior details have recently been replaced with new original parts. The windscreen was replaced at BMW in 2024 but unfortunately sustained a small crack on the photo day, visible in the images near the driver’s side wiper. The seller states that this is one of only 891 built, and highlights that the car is well cared for and free from non‑original alterations.
The car has had only 6 owners from new. It has largely been in the Umeå area (since 1998) and was owned by the same enthusiast for almost 20 years between 2003 and 2023.

Hi, what is the condition of the EDC dampers?
Is the Belgian registration also available?
Best regards
Emanuel
Hi Emanuel,
The EDC dampers are in working condition. The car is also equipped with the control button that allows you to switch between two damper settings.
The car is registered in Sweden and was imported from Belgium in 1998. I’m not sure which Belgian registration documents are still with the car, but I will upload photos of all available documentation later this evening.
Best regards,
Per
