Basic information and history
The BMW 850i is a timeless V12 icon that is highly sought after by car enthusiasts worldwide. The model represents the best of BMW engineering from the 90s, packaged in a rare and exclusive package. This is not just a classic GT car, it is a piece of automotive history. The V12 engine and manual 6-speed gearbox make it a rarity that only a Ferrari 456 GT can match!
This example is an extremely rare 850i with the Color Line package (1 of 49 produced), painted in the bold color Barbados Grün metallic (1 of 16), in a nice contrast to the interior's black nappa leather and Barbados Green details on the seat sections and door panels. The combination exudes both class and sportiness – and is guaranteed to make you stand out both at the meet and on the highway. Additionally, the Color Line was only offered to the European market and only 3,670 manual 850i were produced, making this car something truly unique!
The car was imported from Germany and came to Sweden in 1997. The total odometer reading shows just under 211,000 km (can be guaranteed), and the car has had eight owners in Sweden – two of which were private individuals. The previous owner acquired the car back in 2001 and had it until the current owner bought the car in April 2025. Most of the time the car has been in a heated garage and has hardly been used (6000 km in 16 years), which is noticeable in its condition. It has been exemplary cared for and sparingly used, and now is the opportunity to buy a collector's item that feels just as exciting to drive today as when it was launched.
The V12 engine combined with the manual transmission provides a unique driving experience; silky smooth power and classic BMW enjoyment in every mile. The body is straight, the paintwork is almost free of stone chips, and the interior gives an immediate feeling of luxury and exclusivity.
This is a car that must be experienced – a true enthusiast's dream that has the potential to both increase in value and garner admiring glances on every outing.
Trivia: It has spent most of its life sitting in a heated garage, preserved as a collector's item rather than used as a daily driver. The care and respect over the years is clearly evident in both visual assessment and driving feel.
