Basic information and history

1971 was one of the most interesting years in the early 911 history. The model year meant that the engine grew to 2.2 litres, while the wheelbase remained the short 2,268 mm, giving these cars the direct and lively character that enthusiasts seek. The 911 T was the entry-level model in the line-up, but with its lower weight and naturally aspirated 125 hp engine in standard trim, it is today considered one of the most appealing variants to drive among the early F-model cars.

This example was imported from Germany in 1985 by the current owner, who has owned the car continuously ever since. The car is registered to one owner in Sweden and has been driven very sparingly over the past decades, according to the seller between 50 and 200 km per season.

The odometer reading is stated to be 1,000 mil (with the new engine fitted in 1987), but this cannot be guaranteed as the odometer no longer registers distance travelled. The seller states that a new, functioning instrument costs 4,500 SEK and can be arranged if the buyer so wishes. The vehicle is exempt from inspection and passed its most recent inspection, and the seller has kept all inspection documents since the import in 1985.

During 1986 and 1987 the owner carried out a full restoration, during which the car was fitted with turbo-widened wheel arches made in sheet metal as well as a turbo tail. The car was subsequently repainted.

In 1987 the engine was replaced with a newly rebuilt engine of the same type, a 2.2-litre flat-six. The work was carried out by the well-known Stigs Garage in Vara, a workshop that according to the seller works exclusively with Porsche engines. Both engine numbers are archived in the car's extensive documentation.

Condition

Body and paint are described by the seller as in excellent condition, in line with the repaint carried out after the restoration in the mid-1980s. The glass is also said to be of the same standard.

The interior is, according to the seller, in excellent condition, as is the instrument panel. The headliner is assessed to be in good condition. All seat belts work, the audio and media system works, and the electronics are said to be without remark. However, the odometer does not register distance travelled.

Tyres and wheels are described as being in excellent condition. 16-inch black-painted Fuchs wheels with 225/55 Vredestein at the rear and 205/55 Nokia Movenza at the front.

The engine is said to be in excellent condition and to start and run faultlessly. The brakes are also assessed to be in excellent condition. The gearbox is described as being in good condition and shifts faultlessly according to the seller, and the clutch works. The car is drivable as it stands.

Service history

The seller states that the car is fully serviced. Since 1987 the owner has personally changed the oil and filter every other year, despite the very limited annual mileage. The engine replacement in 1987 was carried out by Stigs Garage in Vara.

There are no receipts documenting the service work, but the car comes with extensive documentation which includes, among other things, all inspection documents since 1985 as well as archived records of both engine numbers.
