Basic information and history

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 is one of the most iconic muscle cars from the golden age of the American automotive industry. The model was built specifically to be homologated for TransAm Racing in 1970 – and quickly became a legend among car enthusiasts. This example is particularly interesting as it is a Swedish-sold Boss 302 – very rare and sought-after – and has only had three owners before the current owner. Perfect for those looking for a genuine collector's item with racing DNA and an exciting history.

The car has been in service since the renovation in 2017 and is documented to have been well maintained.

  8. Original parts such as block, distributor, manifold included

Engine overhaul performed by Walens Motorrenovering in 2015. Replacement block from 1971 (correct numbers, matching numbers). Sharper camshaft installed for extra performance.

Additional modifications include MSD ignition, headers and an improved cooling system. The sidepipers open electrically and provide both sound and character. All original parts remain for those who want to restore to factory performance.

Condition

Body and exterior condition: The paint is in very good condition and has recently been repainted by a professional company. The body has undergone a thorough renovation with a new floor, new torpedo wall and new inner fenders. There is minor damage under the fuel cap and some worn details in the moldings and chrome (mostly original, except for new around the windshield).

Interior: Everything is original and contemporary – a real time machine! However, there are some renovation needs: the driver's seat is worn, the headliner is damaged at the far back on the left edge, the door panels and plastic parts (especially the inside of the rear window) have flaws. The dashboard and controls are generally worn but fully functional. The belts are not installed but the original parts are present.

Tires and rims: The tires are from 2015 with normal aging status. The rims have surface rust, no serious damage.

Mechanics and function: The engine is in top condition after the renovation in 2015. Equipped with sharper cam and MSD ignition. Brakes are fine, gearbox and driveline are original and work well. One fault noted – the turn signal fuse trips when used, probably a fault in the steering column . The belts are missing but included. All

functions are otherwise ok.

The doors and front fenders have been replaced, but the original parts are included (in need of restoration). Of the original instruments, only the fuel gauge is currently functional, though all gauges remain in place. The chrome window trim on the driver and passenger sides has not been installed. The ignition lock needs replacement, as the key occasionally gets stuck; an additional kill switch has been fitted as a workaround.

The engine was measured at 370 hp on a rolling road in 2021. A Marti Report from the USA is included.

Service history

Service and maintenance have been carried out continuously during ownership. The largest documented action is the engine renovation in 2015 (receipt and documentation available). The body has been welded, has a new floor, torpedo wall and inner fenders and has been repainted. Last inspected and approved in 2020 - then exempt from inspection. Other history regarding service and parts is primarily available as owner information and in connection with the renovation.

Summary

This is a unique opportunity to take over a genuine and Swedish-sold Ford Mustang Boss 302 from the 1970 model year – an icon with racing heritage that only becomes more desirable every year. The car combines character, driving pleasure and collector's value with the right style and lots of preserved original parts.

With a flawless engine, documented history, some period-accurate upgrades – as well as some patina and a few details for the handyman to improve – this will be a fantastic foundation for both driving and future appreciation.
