Basic information and history

The 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible is one of the most desirable American muscle cars – an icon of its time for design and power, and the very first generation Camaro in a sporty SS trim. This particular example not only offers fantastic build quality and a strong history, but is also equipped from the factory with unusual amenities such as power windows and a power cab – something very few 1967s can boast!

The car was originally assembled by General Motors in Biel, Switzerland, which means that it is not a US import but an unusual European example. It was later imported to Sweden by the previous owner. The seller has owned the car since 2005 and is thus the second owner in Sweden . The current odometer reading is 204,671 km . Original paint and interior in white and red deluxe – just as when the car rolled out of the factory.

Curious: Already upon delivery, the car had electric windows, electric cab, tilt steering wheel, power steering, power brakes, front discs and a diff-mounted rear axle – original from GM!

The car was thoroughly renovated by Autotec in Västerås in 2014-2015. The front fender was repainted after a parking damage in 2022, which resulted in a complete new paint job in 2023 to ensure a smooth finish over the entire body. A real "family cruiser" with strong provenance and full comfort!

Upgrades & modifications:

The engine has been returned to its original 327cu.in configuration and upgraded with, among other things, wound headers, FloTec aluminum heads, Edelbrock RPM intake and Holley EFI with Hyperspark and CompCam rocker arms for improved performance and reliability. A new Monster 700R4 automatic transmission with manual lock-up was installed during the 2015 renovation, and the rear axle was rebuilt at the same time. The rims are not original and give the car a more unique and sporty look.

Condition

Body and exterior condition:

Very good condition thanks to thorough renovation and painting by Autotec 2023. Recently painted over the entire car for a uniform appearance. There is a small stone chip-like mark on the upper edge of the right front door. Chrome, moldings and emblems were replaced or restored during the renovation - only a slightly matte surface is visible on the chrome strip under the driver's door. All glass surfaces are new without scratches, discoloration or stone chips. New headlight lenses installed.

Interior:

Interior in very good condition. The front carpets show some wear but are not worn. During the renovation, a new vinyl cab was installed, which is still of the highest quality. The steering wheel and controls were replaced with brand new or "New Old Stock" parts. Everything works, just like when the car was new.

Tires and rims:

The tires that were installed during the renovation remain and are in good condition. The rims are aftermarket and not original.

Mechanics and function:

Engine in very good condition, free from noise and blue smoke, and has been driven smoothly since the renovation. The latest engine renovation and renovation of the gearbox and rear axle were carried out in 2014-2015. Brakes are original with new discs in the front (replaced in 2015), work perfectly.

Service history

Regular service is well documented. Oil change and filter were done in the summer of 2024. Coolant and glycol were changed in the fall of 2024. All services have been carried out by the current owner himself, with a change interval of every two years as the car is used sparingly and is mainly taken out in good weather or for cruising. Some receipts, documentation about the last owner in Switzerland and dyne results from Race-Shop are included.

The car is inspection exempt, the last approved inspection was carried out on 2018-05-08.
