Basic Information & Background
Classic Jaguar E-Type 4.2L 2 + 2 Series 1, bought new June 30, 1966 in England. Now registered in Sweden and both MOT and tax-exempt.
The Jaguar E-type is one of the car world's real style icons and many consider the first generation (series 1) to be the most beautiful.
This car has the coveted straight six-cylinder engine of 4.2 liters that drives the rear wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission.
This particular example is to be regarded as a good starting point for renovation and it needs some TLC to reach its former glory, but it still starts right up and runs well mechanically.
This E-type was bought in the UK, by an Englishman who later brought it over to Sweden in 1995. The car was never registered and was put in storage between 1995-2010 before the current owner bought it in 2010 and registered it in Sweden in 2014.
Since arriving in Sweden, the car has mostly been located on the island of Gotland and used sparingly during the summer months. It was taken from Gotland to Stockholm last year before sale. It was fine to conduct the whole trip under its own power.
Equipment specification
Engine: 6-cyl 4.2L, 269 hp, Engine number 7E 50933-9
Body type - 2 + 2 which means a small rear seat
3-speed Automatic
The radio is original and not rebuilt for current FM bands, so it is out of order.
Condition
The body was re-painted 3 years ago in the stylish blue original color. Rust dots are visible over the chrome fittings, mostly on the back of the car.
New chrome details and 2 new doors were ordered from Joe's Garage 2014
The interior needs to be reviewed and re-upholstered due to cracked leather in most places and stains on the ceiling.
The engine was reviewed in 2014 on Gotland by a rally specialist named Tobias Petterson. Various hoses and cables were also replaced during the inspection. Mechanically, a review of the car is recommended before it is used.
There is rust in the engine compartment on most components. The brakes take at the bottom and pulsate during braking.
Service history
There is no service documentation. The odometer-reading can not be guaranteed.
The car underwent its last inspection on 2017-10-05 without remarks. Now exempt from inspection and tax
