Keep an eye on the comments
Every listing has its own comment field where logged-in bidders can ask follow-up questions. We recommend that every seller logs in daily during the auction and responds. You will of course get a notification when needed, and the quicker and more thorough the answer, the greater the chance of bids.
Clean car before photography
This may sound obvious, but the fact is that it's largely the photographs that sell the car. A light wipe-down usually isn't enough — for 150+ photos to really do their job, the car needs a thorough wash, both inside and out. Preferably by a professional. In this context, it's a small commitment to create the best conditions for selling your car.
The more info, the better the bidding
Before the interview and photography: make sure to have as much documentation, spare keys and any accessories ready. The more that can be documented, the more attractive your listing becomes.
Be honest about condition
Credibility is important, and it's nothing strange for an older car to have some blemishes, but the clearer the description and the more documentation, the greater the chance that your car will sell and that no questions will arise.
Don't set too high a reserve price
A rule of thumb is that too high reserve prices actually hinder bidding. The trend shows that once the reserve price is met and a bidder actually has the chance to win the item, bidding also picks up, resulting in a better final price. Since sellers on Bidders Highway don't pay any seller fees, you could also consider a somewhat lower reserve price.
