Volvo P1800S – Swedish elegance with international appeal

This example from 1966 is also one of the most eye-catching objects in the collection, not least thanks to its attractive color combination of gray with red leather interior. The car has had the same owner since 1981 and is said to have undergone an extensive renovation in 2025, with a repainted body, newly renovated engine, gearbox and driveline, and renovated brake system. The interior has also been updated with new seat covers and carpets. 

What makes the P1800 so special is that it almost always gets two reactions at the same time. First comes the design. Then comes respect. Because underneath the elegant exterior, the Volvo DNA is still there: no over-dramatic, nothing unnecessary, just an unusually beautiful shape around something solid and useful. This car therefore becomes the most romantic element of the collection, but also perhaps its clearest statement. This is not just a classic Volvo. Volvo 142 Deluxe – edgy, honest and full of potential

At the same time, the car is not currently drivable because reassembly remains after the engine renovation. The cardan shaft is loose next to it, the gear lever has been removed and a new throttle cable is included. 

That is precisely why it also has a special allure. For the right enthusiast, this is not just a car, but an opportunity. The original interior is largely intact, the car has the coveted Deluxe designation and the foundation is clearly described. It doesn't offer ready-made nostalgia in the same way as the Amazon or P 1800S, but perhaps that's precisely why it awakens something else: the desire to complete, improve and give new life to a two-door 140 that still has a lot to say.

Volvo PV 544F – a car that carries memories, parts and possibilities

At the very end of the timeline we find the Volvo PV 544F from 1965, and few models evoke the same immediate feeling of Swedish car nostalgia. This example is being sold as a renovation object and has been in the same family for a long time. A renovation that has begun has never been completed, but the purchase also includes a donor car, and according to the seller, both the renovated engine and gearbox and the original block are included. The last known inspection was carried out in 1987, and the car is openly described as a project where the scope and condition need to be carefully assessed by the next owner. 

This is precisely where the PV becomes so interesting. Because this type of car rarely attracts with perfection. It attracts with the story. With the shape, the silhouette, the memories and the feeling of actually saving something that deserves to live on. For many, the PV 544 is not just an old Volvo, but a symbol of a Sweden where the car could still be understood with hands, tools and will.
