Basic information and history

Mercedes put all its technical know-how into its new SL roadster (R129) which was to replace the Dallas moped (R107) in 1989. They were based on the E-Class platform (W124) and the new SL had, among other things, a multi-link rear axle, seat belts integrated into the seats, a roll cage that folded up automatically if the car was in danger of overturning, and ABS.

This 1990 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 is a wonderful car in very fine original condition. With only 55,400 km on the odometer this is an excellent example of a well-kept classic. The car was imported from Canada and registered in Sweden on 20214-09-25 and has had one and the same owner here, which further underlines its carefully preserved condition.

Condition

Body: Reported to be in very good condition and in original condition. A few small scratches are visible on the body, including on the left rearview mirror (see pictures), and the seller confirms that there is no rust on the body. The paint is in excellent condition and has undergone a professional paint treatment. The windows are in good condition, and the chrome details, moldings and headlight lenses are intact and without damage. The 18-inch aftermarket rims are in perfect condition with no damage, and the car is equipped with brand new summer tires.

Interior: Very nice original condition, with no damage to the seats. The dashboard is intact and clean, with no signs of damage. The headliner is in excellent condition, and there is no wear on the steering wheel, controls or buttons. All electronics in the car work as they should.

Mechanics and function: The engine is in very good condition and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly without any noise. The brake discs and brake pads are almost new.

Service history

Oil and oil filter have recently been changed. There are no service records, as the current owner has serviced the car himself. The last approved inspection was carried out on October 3, 2024.
