History and basic information

1947 was the year when Volvo launched the model PV444 and the order books at Volvo were fully subscribed and the waiting time long. The PV model took its design from well-known American car manufacturers in the 40s, mainly from the manufacturer Pontiac which provided the inspiration. But in typical Swedish fashion, Volvo wanted to produce a smaller and more fuel-efficient car that was better adapted to Swedish conditions. Thus was born the PV, "The passenger car."

This PV started out as a 444 and was enthusiast restored and converted into a convertible in the 90's. Meter reading is currently 12744 km, but cannot be guaranteed. The condition is consistently good and the car has been well taken care of.

Condition

The exterior of the car is in very good condition. The bright red paint is without worse wear or signs of age. There is, however, a clear scratch on one of the rear fenders, right by the fuel cap, and the normal amount of stone chips to be expected. There are also some minor cracks and and small bumps. Lantern glass is in good condition. The chrome comes in normal used condition with a bit of patina on it, but nothing conspicuously bad. Moldings, chrome and hubcaps are also in good condition. The white convertible has stains in the fabric.

The interior of the car is in overall good condition. Materials on the chairs have held up well, as have the door sides. The instrument panel is in good condition, as are the buttons and controls. Fit of materials in some places is a little loose, and could be tightened up for a really nice interior.

Under the hood, everything looks neat, tidy and orderly. Engine described by current owner to be in very good condition. Even underneath, the car is nice and it doesn't look like any significant rust. This part was also renovated at the same time as the bodywork and rebuilding took place. The tire's tread depth is measured at approx. 5 mm.

Service history

The car is in a nice and well-kept condition. The car was last serviced in 2020 by the current owner. There is some early documentation included. Feel free to look at the pictures under "documentation". The car was last inspected in 2017.
