The Volvo Amazon 121 was a mid-sized car manufactured by the Swedish car manufacturer Volvo between 1956 and 1970. The Amazon 121 was introduced in 1961 as a four-door sedan and was later followed by a two-door coupe and a five-door station wagon. It is worth noting that the Amazon was the first Volvo model to be widely exported and has subsequently gained popularity worldwide.

The Amazon 121 had a durable and reliable design with a strong emphasis on safety, which was characteristic of Volvo cars at the time.

The Amazon 121 is known for its distinctive styling, which was ahead of its time and showcased Volvo's commitment to both practicality and aesthetics. It had a classic and timeless look, with a prominent chrome grille, large windows for excellent visibility and a spacious interior for its size. The Amazon was also praised for its comfortable ride, solid build quality and robust technology.

This restored bright blue 2-door example from 1979 has had 6 previous owners. Equipped with Volvo's solid B20 with approx. 85hp/150nm connected to 4-speed manual box. Unfortunately, the meter reading cannot be guaranteed, but the condition speaks for itself. Complete owners history comes with the car. 

The car was renovated between 2021 and 2022. The body was completely dismantled and repainted. At the same time, the interior was also given a refurbish with new material. However, there is minor paint damage on the roof towards the driver's A-pillar. Photos of the renovation are available from the current owner. The glass parts are also described as being in good condition. Chrome and moldings look nice as far as normal wear, among other things, small scratches and a little minor damage and rust at one of the fastening screws. The rims are also in good condition. Thoroughly fine and enjoyable condition that just needs to be honked and driven!

The interior of the car is perceived to be in good condition. However, the owner states that the steering wheel is slightly worn, but the dashboard and panel are in good condition apart from a minor dry crack above the instruments. Door panels and upholstery are in clearly good condition. The interior roof looks OK but has wear in the form of dirt and stains, among other things. Material under the rear window is dry-cracked.

Under the hood we find a B20 in good condition. Neat and tidy and leaks don't seem to occur. Both gearbox and engine are described as working perfectly. The car has recently received a new camshaft and the last service was carried out in 2022 by the current owner. Backs and drums are in good condition.

As with many older vehicles, the service history is missing, but the condition of the car both before and after renovation indicates that the car has been looked after over the years. The only rust found during refurbishment was between rear fender and the wheel arch. Last inspection was carried out on 2021-05-23.

Thoroughly well looking Amazon 121 which received both new paint, interior materials and replaced mechanical wear and tear parts. A perfect condition to enjoy throughout the summer!
