Basic information and history

A fantastically entertaining hot hatch from French Peugeot! Domestically sold Peugeot 205 GTI from 1989 with 227,400km on the odometer. The car comes in a good condition and has had a slightly more nimble engine from big brother Peugeot 405 Mi16 installed. Externally, the engine is the same as the original engine, but a massaged inside offers a little more horsepower.

The car comes in good used condition considering the year and mileage as well as the type of fun-to-drive model this is. The current owner bought the car in 2021 as an exciting repair object and has partially renovated the car for two years.

Condition

The car comes in good used condition and has been partially renovated. The general condition is described as good by the current owner. The body has no modifications done to it. The car is free from rust, which is a very nice plus. The paint is also described as being in good condition. There is of course various wear and tear after 220,000km on our roads, but nothing conspicuously bad. Doors have been partly dampened with sound mats. Rear and front carriage have been blasted and painted. Front fenders have been replaced.

The interior is also in good used condition considering the mileage. The chairs have age wear in the form of dry paint, but without consistent cracks or tears. A little new color on the skin can do wonders for this little rocket! Door sides are in good condition. Steering wheel, buttons and controls are in good condition with minor wear on the steering wheel. Inner ceiling in good condition. All functions in the cabin work as intended. A newer Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth is installed.

Engine is described as being in good condition. Previous owner installed the engine from a 405 Mi16, an externally identical engine but which puts out closer to 160hp instead of the GTI version with its approx. 125 hp. A 2.5" exhaust system has also been installed. The gearbox and drivetrain are described as being in good condition as well. Brakes were serviced in 2023 and are in good condition. Mechanically, everything works as intended.

Service history

In 2023, an oil service was performed on the car and it also received a new timing belt. After this work, the car has run approx. 400 km. There are various older inspection records, but no service book. The last inspection was carried out on 2024-04-18 with an approved result.

Summary

French GTI car in fine used condition that is ready to scare fellow road users! With its low weight, the wheels out in the corners and over 150 hp, it is more than enough for an exhilarating driving experience.
