Basic Information & Background
In September 1991, Mercedes launched a cabriolet version of the immensely popular W124 body. Mercedes built only 33,952 copies in the cabriolet version, also called internally the A124an. If you include other bodies, Mercedes built over 2.5 million W124s between 1984-1996.
The model could be ordered with a 2 liter engine and a 3 liter straight 6a, in 1994-1996 the 3 liter engine was updated to a more reliable 3.2l straight six. This example is from 1995 with the big straight 6 cylinder engine called E320. The cars are known for their reliability and comfort. One of the few modern convertibles that you can fit four adults in and sit comfortably in. The car has no problems keeping up with today's traffic and is comfortable at highway speeds. Perfect car to drive around Europe with. The model is relatively quiet inside the cabin with the roof up. You really feel that these models were built with a focus on quality.
This particular example was imported to Sweden in 2005 and has been driven on Gotland between 2006–2008, after that the car has been in Arvika until 2017. Between 2017–2022 the car has been used sparingly in Stockholm.
