Basic information and HistoryA Swedish-sold and well-maintained Mercedes 200 Series 3.The Series 3 cars were built between the years 1983-1985 which meant rectangular lights, more wood inside the cabin, and new material on the dashboard. Power steering became standard. The instrumentation received an economy meter. The right rear view mirror became electric but the left was still adjusted manually. In 1985, Philipson (who was the general agent and importer of Mercedes in Sweden) ordered a large batch of standard equipped 200 white with blue fabric upholstery and 4-speed manual box. The idea was to take customers from Volvo and Ford in the middle segment. The advertising slogan from Philipson read "Last chance to buy a Mercedes under SEK 100,000."
