Basic information and History

The Ford Mustang is undoubtedly a well-known name to most people, the world's first "pony car" and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. The model was available in a variety of versions, coupe, fastback and cabriolet, among others. and could be supplied with a plethora of different engines. This generation is also one of the most sought after on the market thanks to its timeless design but also fine road characteristics.

This example is a 1968 model with an upgraded V8 of 302ci (5.0L) and came to Sweden already in 1972 from the USA. Over the years, the car has also received a major renovation including full paint. The seller has owned the car since 2014 has driven it very sparingly over the years and it has always been in a warm garage when not in use. Previous owner who also upgraded the engine is a recognized Mustang profile from Mustang Club Sweden and the car has been featured in several articles in magazines.


Condition

Exterior: The seller says that the car is in very good condition on the outside except for a couple of small marks that are documented in the album. The car was painted at some point during the previous owner's overhaul and the chrome details are also perceived as refurbished and have a fantastic shine. The electric cab has been replaced and has always been stored with the roof up and is in good condition free of damage and cracks. Polished American Racing rims are also in very good condition. Interior: The interior upholstery appears to be in very good condition and without major complaints. The black interior contrasts really well with the paint and the combination is just the icing on the cake. Instrument panel and center console have some signs of age but still present themselves well. A more modern stereo is fitted. The controls are apparently original controls in fine condition with a little patina. All gauges and other functions in the interior are in a good and working condition and the mileage currently stands. of approximately 40,665 miles but cannot be guaranteed. Mechanics: The seller informs that the entire driveline including engine, gearbox and rear axle works flawlessly and runs great on the road. As can be seen, the engine has been thoroughly overhauled and had many parts replaced over the years. The engine is a 302ci SB from a 1987 Mustang modified with among other things, a 4-port Holley carburettor, forged pistons, aluminum heads, rocker arms and headers. The power is estimated at approx. 350+hp. The transmission is now a C6 automatic with 3.55:1 ratio in the rear axle. Also has front disc brakes and a newer radiator. Summary

A really popular classic in a nice condition with a little extra push in it. It's a really beautiful American sports car/pony car that works just as well on curvy country roads as it does on a cruise around town and attracts attention wherever you go! Refurbished examples like this do not grow on trees and if you are looking for a "turn-key" American convertible for the coming season, this is a fantastic opportunity.
