Basic information and History

The Ford Mustang is undoubtedly a well-known name to most people, the world's first "pony car" and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. This generation is also one of the most sought after on the market thanks to its timeless design but also fine road characteristics.

This example is a 1966 model and came to Sweden from Texas in 2009 where it had had the same owner since 1990. Very nice original body without any repairs and well equipped with, among other things, AC and vinyl roof. The seller has owned the car since 2020 and has driven it very sparingly over the years and it has always been in a warm garage when not in use.

Condition

Exterior: The seller says that the car is in good condition with a straight and nice original body. Solid and without rust in all four fenders and with straight fine thresholds. The spot welds in the rear screen edges are still visible. Full cover spinner capsules. The vinyl roof is very nice and has no damage or bubbles underneath. Chrome and moldings are also in good condition without major wear and patina. A repaint has been done in previous years in the original color and still presents itself well overall. There are also a couple of smaller marks that are documented in the album. For more info on exact condition, see our detailed photos and feel free to ask questions in the comments!

Interior: The interior upholstery appears to be in very good condition and without major complaints. Originally equipped with the stylish pony interior (Code 65B). This means, among other things, DeLuxe door sides with Courtesy Lights and Pistol Grip door handles. Kick panels with textile carpet and chrome strip and three-spoke sports steering wheel. Special two-tone upholstery with galloping mustangs in the backrests. The floor mat and front upholstery have been replaced. The instrument panel and center console have some signs of age but still present themselves well. The controls are apparently original controls in fine condition with a little patina. All gauges and other functions in the interior are in a good and working condition and the mileage currently stands. of approximately 99,981 miles but cannot be guaranteed. For more info on exact condition see our detailed photos in the album and feel free to ask questions in the comment field!

Mechanics: The seller informs that the entire driveline including engine, gearbox and rear axle works flawlessly and runs great on the road. The engine is an A-code 289 V8 of 225 hp with C4 3-speed Aut. Dry and fine under both engine and gearbox. Newer gas tank and fixture, new tires, new dual exhaust system, new carburetor, new electronic ignition system, new chrome air cleaner and valve covers.

Straight and fine inner fenders where the car's Vin# still has razor-sharp contours. The floors are nice and solid with only a bit of surface rust, the chassis and frame are spot on. Please see all the photos in the album and ask questions in the comment field!

Summary

A really popular classic in a nice condition ready for the summer. It is a beautiful American sports car/pony car that works just as well on curvy country roads as it does on a cruise around town and attracts attention wherever you go! Good specimens like this do not grow on trees and if you are looking for a "turn-key" American coupe for the coming season, this is a fantastic opportunity.
