Basic Information & BackgroundThe Ford Escort MK1 is a very recognized name in racing circles and has been successfully raced in rallies since it was first launched! It is still a popular choice as a basis for rally construction, and there is a shortage of nice cars on the market. This car has been owned by the same family since new and is an excellent example to build a racing car from, restomod or keep as an original car. The object is an original 1300L model sold new here in Sweden and has mostly been in a garage in recent years.ConditionExterior: During the 2000s, the car was taken down in parts for rust repair and full paint in the car's original color. The car still presents itself well with, in the context, very little surface rust in places. Please see our detailed pictures for more info!Interior. The original interior is well used and the upholstery in need of refreshing and renovation. Instrument panel, steering wheel, etc. are in good working condition.Mechanical: Vibrant and easy-starting 1.3L engine. Clutch/gearbox/brakes feel good and the car is fully drivable, but a service and minor inspection is probably recommended before longer use. Noted is a provisional repair of the exhaust system that needs to be reviewed.Service historyOriginal service book is included with the car, 2 keys and most of the inspection reports. The last inspection was in 2018/08 and has been driven very little since then.SummaryA very popular model that will be a safe investment for the future.
