Basic information and history

Exciting American icon, Ford Crown Victoria in classic New York Cab design. The car has only had one driver in New York City during the time it was used on the streets of Manhattan. The car comes with a charming used patina and has plenty of marks and dents from the time in the world's capital and all the trips it has been on during its work shifts. The car has also received a small article in Klassiker. The current owner is the only one on Swedish soil and he bought the car as it is one of the last real classic New York taxis.

  1. American icon, Ford Crown Victoria New York Cab
  2. Only one driver in the USA and one owner in Sweden
  3. Charming patina of use from all the work shifts in the capital of the world

The Crown Vic comes with a 4.6-liter V8 of approx. 225hp connected to a 4-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive.

Equipment and options

The car still has taxi equipment fitted, including the divider wall between the driver and the passenger seating, a taximeter, thou not fitted. Otherwise A/C for both driver and passenger.

Condition

The car comes in a used condition and has various repairs to the bodywork. However, the Carfax on the car has been retrieved and it does not appear to have been involved in any worse accidents. The owner describes that the condition is generally better than the average New York cab, but has both dents and repainted in the wrong shade in places. Charming, given that the dents tell of the time on the streets. What has been repainted are, among other things, the front wings and bonnet. Owner informs that there is some rust on the back edge of the screens and underneath. There is also a small hole in the hood where the driver's own "medallion" was mounted. Drivers take these with them to their new car. Glass panes are described as being in normal condition, without cracks or stone chips. Headlight lenses are worn and so are the chrome strips that are present. The sheet metal rims have wear and tear and the tires should be replaced, however the inspection did not comment on this.

The interior is described as surprisingly good, given the type of vehicle and area of use. Driver and front passenger seats are in good condition, but the rear seat is slightly worn with some small cracks in the vinyl. Otherwise, there is wear and tear on the steps, door sides and so on. The dashboard has various holes from taximeters and other equipment. Inner ceiling in normal condition. The steering wheel is worn. All electronics work as intended in the passenger compartment.

The solid and durable engine is described as worn, but starts and runs as it should. The gearbox is also worn but works as it should. The condition of the brakes is unclear, but the inspection body had no comments on the condition. At the inspection, the car received two second places. One that the steering servo is leaking and the other that the steering is stiff. Management therefore needs to be reviewed.

Service history

Last inspection was carried out on 2024-04-03. See above text paragraph for remarks.
