Basic information and history

The 2001 BMW M5 of the E39 generation is often regarded as a well-balanced sports sedan with a naturally aspirated V8 and a six-speed manual gearbox. The model uses the S62 V8 engine with individual throttle bodies and double VANOS, paired with a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain with finely tuned chassis geometry and Servotronic steering. The combination of a free-revving NA engine, precise manual gearbox and discreet body makes this vintage particularly appealing to the enthusiast who appreciates an analog driving feel.

This example is a BMW M5, production date 2001-04-24, in Le Mans Blue with Nappa Heritage Caramel upholstery and an anthracite Alcantara headliner. The car was imported from the USA and was not originally sold in Sweden. The seller states the odometer reading as 413 000 kilometers and says it can be guaranteed.

Ownership history according to the seller: the car was bought new in 2001 by the seller’s father in Vero Beach, Florida. When he passed away in 2017, the car was inherited by his daughter. The seller says the car was used extensively in the USA, with annual long trips between Florida and New Hampshire to visit friends. A very large amount of documentation from the USA is available from 2005-05-12 to 2017-07-22 (see album). After import, maintenance continued, including a major service on 2019-04-05 and a clutch replacement on 2019-06-07. Two minor body damages were repaired on 2020-11-02. Inspected 2026/01/30 with no remarks. All keys are present with the car. The car has been used very sparingly since the seller inherited it. Please see the album with all documentation for information on service and work performed.
