Basic information and history

The Land Rover Discovery II marks a significant development in the Discovery series and is known among enthusiasts for its technology, uncompromising off-road ability and British character. The late 90s brought a new focus on comfort without compromising on capacity and the Discovery II delivers with gusto.

This example has covered 65,250 km and the odometer reading can be guaranteed. The car was originally sold new in Sweden through Bilmånsson/Landrover in Hörby. For most of its life it has had the same owner – a well-known Swedish financier – before the current owner took over.

The car was bought for family adventures and has been used for trips with a roof tent for several summers. Originally the car was a 5-seater, but the current owner has had it converted to a 7-seater with original seats imported from England. The build was professionally done in Malmö.

Equipment and options

  • Newly installed 7-seat configuration (professionally converted from 5-seater)
  • Sunroof (only one works)
  • A/C, electric windows, electrically adjustable mirrors
  • Larger tires than original for a beefier look
Modifications performed:

Conversion to 7-seater (5-seater original) has been done with parts ordered from England and has been professionally installed. The larger tires enhance the car's character without compromising comfort.

Condition

Body & Exterior condition: Original paint in generally good condition with minor signs of wear - see pictures for details of dents, scratches and minor door cracks. Small rust spots on the rear-view mirrors and around the window frame front right (see pictures for extent). The windows are intact and nice, and the moldings and headlight lenses are fresh – one cover is missing (see pictures).

Interior: The interior is complete and fresh with clean seats and controls. A little slack in the headliner (hanging fabric), which is a known phenomenon on the model. Otherwise, the interior is unusually well preserved. The extra seats at the back are a different color than the rest of the interior.

Tires & Rims: The tires are slightly larger than original for a beefier visual expression and have a lot of tread left. A perfect compromise between appearance and comfort.

Mechanics & Function: The engine is well serviced and maintained. The brake system has recently been overhauled with new brake pipes. The gearbox and driveline behave as they should for the model; not completely silent but no unusual noises occur. Electronics and other functions are in good condition, however only one sunroof works.

Service history

The vehicle service is very well documented:

  • Regular service under current owner at English Carcare in Löddeköpinge
  • Comprehensive documentation; almost all the paperwork and receipts are available for those who wish to track the car's care and history
  • Last inspected and approved in August 2025
  • The authenticity of the odometer reading can be guaranteed, and documentation is included.

Summary

This is a rare, fine and Swedish-sold Discovery II, with documented low mileage and a richly documented service history. With its patinated original condition, properly executed updates such as the 7-seat conversion, this is the perfect object for those looking for a classic, user- and collector-friendly Discovery. A genuine and well-maintained adventure car with a transparent ownership history.

A timeless British icon that is ready for the next chapter – both on the road and in the terrain.
