Launched as a limited special edition for one year (1995), the 855 T-5R quickly became a favorite thanks to both performance and design improvements. For enthusiasts, this is one of Volvo's absolute milestones from the 90s .

This example is a genuine Volvo 855 T-5R with automatic transmission and has an odometer reading of 389,489 km . The odometer reading is reportedly guaranteed. The car was imported from Germany by a previous owner in 1997 and has had a total of 19 previous users, several of whom have been within the same families or companies.

According to the previous owner, the car has been optimized with BSR Stage 1 trim, has an open air filter and a larger exhaust system. New brake discs and pads have been installed, as well as two new and two refurbished brake calipers. The front has been repainted and the car has recently been serviced with oil and filter. It comes with two extra front fenders (although in the wrong color) and new emblems that are not installed. The rear bumper is installed with new brackets.

Condition

Body and exterior condition: The car is in a worn condition with scratches, rust and a dent here and there. The front has been freshly painted. In some places the paint has been polished through. Further improvements have been made to the front and rear fender edges by previous owners, but with runs at the fender edges. The moldings and headlight lenses are in normal condition, and new emblems are included. The windows have some minor stone chips but no cracks. There is rust, both light and more serious, but mainly on the left side of the car. Among other things, under the sill trim on the driver's side, both front and rear, and in the dogbone by the left rear door and the lower edge of the doors. Rust bubbles are visible on the upper edge of the windshield, and on the edges under the side windows, as well as in the rear and front fenders. Study the pictures carefully to form your own opinion of the condition.

Interior: Shows noticeable wear with a lot of scuffs and marks. The passenger airbag cover on the dashboard is incorrectly installed. The seams on the driver's seat cushion have cracked and the electric adjustment of the front seat backrests does not work. The interior carpet has a hole below the driver's seat and the seat mounts have visible rust and are missing their plastic covers. The fabric carpet is missing on the driver's side. There is a hole in the protective strip on the back of the left rear seat. The headliner is reasonably intact where the fabric has come off the sun visor on the sunroof and there are some large dirt spots at the back that should be able to be wiped off, according to the seller. The controls and buttons work but the steering wheel shows wear on both the suede at the bottom and the leather at the top. See pictures to form your own opinion of the condition.

Tires and rims: Hifly Win-turi friction tires with good tread depth, suitable for year-round use. The rims have clear edge scratches.

Mechanics and function: The engine runs very well without any known noises and has been recently serviced (oil and filter), although not documented in the service book. According to the previous owner, the engine is tuned with BSR Stage 1, and a larger exhaust system and open air filter are fitted. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes have recently been serviced with new discs, pads and new and refurbished brake calipers. All electronics, such as the sunroof, central locking and trip computer work, except for the AC, which has not been tested – assume that it does not work.

Service history

Service book is available with stamps up to 330,000 km and there are also some other documents and receipts. Last service was carried out about 2,500 km ago, with oil and filter change (not documented in the service book). However, the timing belt should be replaced due to age, even though it appears to be in good condition upon visual inspection.

The vehicle was inspected without any complaints on 2024-06-06 and is approved until 2026-06-30.
