Basic information and history
The BMW 850i is a timeless V12 icon that is highly sought after by car enthusiasts worldwide. The model represents the very best of BMW's engineering from the 90s, packaged in a rare and exclusive package. This is not just a classic GT car, it is a piece of automotive history. The V12 engine and manual 6-speed gearbox make it a rarity that only a Ferrari 456 GT can match! This example is an extremely unusual 850i with the Color Line package (1 of 49 produced), painted in the bold colour Barbados Grün metallic (1 of 16), in stylish contrast to the black nappa leather interior with details in Barbados Green on seat sections and door panels.
The combination radiates both class and sportiness – guaranteeing that you stand out both at the meet and on the motorway. Add to that the fact that Color Line was only offered to the European market and that only 3,670 manual 850i cars were produced, and this car becomes something truly unique! The car was imported from Germany and arrived in Sweden in 1997. The total mileage shows just under 212,000 km (can be guaranteed), and the car has had 8 owners in Sweden – of which 3 were private individuals. The car's previous and longest owner acquired the car back in 2001 and kept it until the previous owner (Stromiq) bought the car in April 2025, after which it was sold here on Bidders Highway to the seller. Most of the time the car has been kept in a heated garage and barely used (700 km over 16 years), which is noticeable in its condition. It has been maintained impeccably and used sparingly, and now offers the opportunity to buy a collector's item that feels just as exciting to drive today as when it was launched. The V12 engine together with the manual gearbox provides a unique driving experience; silky-smooth power and classic BMW enjoyment with every mile.
The body is straight, the paint is nearly free of stone chips, and the interior gives an immediate sense of luxury and exclusivity. This is a car that must be experienced – a true enthusiast's dream that has the potential to both increase in value and gather admiring glances on every outing. Trivia: For most of its life it has been kept aside in a heated garage, preserved as a collector's item rather than used as a daily driver. Care and respect over the years is clearly noticeable both in visual assessment and in the driving feel. The car naturally comes with 3 sets of keys as well as two sets of keys for the Alpina wheels.

Condition:
Body and exterior: The paint is in very good condition, previously repainted (information from previous owner) due to scratches and stone chips. Only small signs of normal use are present; virtually no stone chips – see photos for details. Chrome, trim, emblems and other details are very fine – only a few stone chips on the front headlight glass, nothing that disturbs the overall impression.
Interior: The interior is very good. Black headliner without damage, seats and panels in black and Barbados Green leather. Controls and buttons show normal but minimal wear. The door sill trims have a few small marks, see photos. The radio was restored in 2026, as well as the rear privacy shade.
Tyres and wheels: New Michelin Super Sport fitted in 2026 in exactly the right dimension on Alpina wheels. Wheels in very good condition.
Mechanics and function: The engine has recently been serviced and runs smoothly and finely – nothing to note. The brakes are in good condition, with approximately 70 percent of the pads remaining – discs in good condition. Gearbox and drivetrain are quiet and fine according to the seller. New brake booster, new Euro 5 catalytic converters from Ferrita, and new fuel pumps replaced in 2026.
Service history: Latest service: Performed 2026-02-12 by BMW Service Bil & Motorteknik (Per Larsson). At that time, spark plugs, ignition cables, rotor, distributor cap, fuel filter, cabin filter, air filter, oxygen sensors, washer fluid pump, engine oil and filter were replaced. Inspection: 2025-10-29 with a passed result. Service records, receipts and history are available and can be shown upon interest – this documentation, together with many years of sparing use and storage in a heated garage, guarantees originality and condition.
