The 1991 Jaguar XJ40 Sovereign represents the refined phase of the XJ40 generation. The model combines the smooth running of the AJ6 straight-six with the four-speed ZF automatic with sports mode, improved chassis geometry with outboard rear brakes and the characteristic rectangular headlight design. Condition

Body and exterior: Generally good paint condition with a minor paint chip at the left rear door handle. According to the seller, there are local rust bubbles behind the left and right front wheels and to the side of the fuel filler flap, with no signs of through-rust. Chrome, moldings and emblems are reported to be in good condition. Left front headlight glass has a stone chip. Glass surfaces otherwise in good condition, windshield has normal wear and tear without stone chips.

Interior: Very good overall impression. Some age and use patina on the driver's seat. Steering wheel, controls and buttons in good condition without obvious wear. The headliner is in good condition without pronounced sagging, with an occasional spot that is not fully stretched.

Tires and rims: Tires in very good condition, approximately seven to eight millimeters of tread depth according to the seller. Mounted on Jaguar aluminum rims.

Mechanics and function: Engine runs well without any noise or abnormal exhaust color or odor. The gearbox shifts as it should. Braking performance assessed as normal at last inspection at 18,086 km. Electrical functions mostly in order, but the right front window does not work. Electric sunroof and other electric windows are reported to work.

Service history

According to the seller, the service book is fully signed according to the manufacturer's intervals. The last known service was performed in October 2023 at 17,691 km. Previous maintenance and stamps are shown in the service book. The car has been maintained by the well-respected Joe's Garage, which is always a positive for the copy.
