Basic information and history

This Volkswagen 1200L from 1981 ended up in the hands of the current owner when it came with the purchase of a house. According to the statement, the car has been in the house's garage since the beginning of the 2000s and only started once for conditioning. Previous owners came to Sweden from Latvia in the early 2000s and took the car with them. The previous owner did simple renovations and maintenance, e.g. screen replacement. The car is relatively nice for its age but is in need of an overhaul and various rust that should be looked over. Previous owners never registered the car in Sweden, but it was done at the beginning of the year. According to old papers, the car had four users in Latvia.

Equipped with a 1.2-liter boxer four of approx. 35hp/75nm mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox and rear-wheel drive.

Condition

The car comes in a used condition. The previous owner told us that she changed and prepared the screens at a workshop, but when in time that happened is unclear. The car today has various rust and the owner says the following: "Along the roof molding on the right side and at the beginning of the right rear fender. A little in the trunk. A little rust in both the doors and in the rear fender. Also under the hood and inside there is rust on the rear floor and it takes forward on the driver's side." Glass panes are described as being in good condition. Chrome, moldings and lamp glass have traces of age, but not too bad in condition. The tires fitted are without damage and were approved at the last inspection.

The original interior has various wear and tear. Chairs with various tears and typical wear from stepping in and out. Steering wheel, buttons and controls in good condition for its age. Interior roof has come off at the back. Door panels are worn and detached. The washer motor runs but no liquid reaches the nozzles. Stereo with CD player has been installed.

Engine is described as being in good condition. However, the brakes take poorly because the car has been stationary since the beginning of the 20s.

There is no information on when the car was last serviced. A major service and review should be carried out before the car is put into use.
