The 1965 BMC Cooper S is one of the most highly regarded performance variants of the classic Mini family. The car has undergone an extensive restoration in 2014-2017 where the body was rebuilt from an empty and sanded base. The left front fender and "triangle", front, right rear body side and rear sand sheet have been replaced. The sills and front floor are also new. The paintwork was carried out by a reputable company in connection with the renovation and is described as being in the same condition today, with some minor scratches and improvements. The drivetrain is newly built with an original Cooper S block that has been lined and drilled to 1,290 cubic centimeters, and an original S-type gearbox housing.

According to the seller, the car is very entertaining to drive, with handling and performance that suits curvy roads and track days.

Body and exterior: the body is built from an empty and sanded base with documented panel changes that include the left front fender and "triangle", front, right rear body side, rear sand sheet, sills and front floor. Paintwork done by a reputable company during the renovation. According to the seller, the paintwork is basically in new condition with some minor scratches and improvements made. The windshield is new, the front side windows are described as flawless, the rear side windows have a couple of minor marks and the rear window is scratched. The chrome, moldings, headlight lenses and emblems are generally good. The chrome trim around the grill is slightly dull, the frames on the rear side windows and the American arches have some spotting.

Interior: generally good condition. New door sides. Moldings and kick guards on door pockets have abrasion damage. Minor repaired tear on passenger seat and on the back of driver's seat. Headlining has visible damage that has been repaired with a different color. Steering wheel, controls and buttons are in very good condition, the steering wheel is an older leather-covered Motolita.

Tires and rims: Dunlop SP Sport R7 in good condition. 8-spoke aluminum rims in good condition.

Mechanics and function: the engine is newly built and is described as being in very good condition. The gearbox and drivetrain are built by the same mechanic, with original S-case, straight-cut gears and unsynchronized first gear, and are described as being in very good condition. The brake system has new discs, drums and pads. According to the seller, the car runs well and offers an engaging driving experience.

Inspection: May 6, 2017. The car is exempt from inspection.
