Basic information and history
The Volvo P1800 is one of Volvo's most iconic gran turismo models. Designed by Pelle Petterson and made famous by the TV series Helgonet, it combines 60s European GT aesthetics with Volvo's robust technology.
This example has been rebuilt to a very extensive degree. The body is split in the middle and widened by 135 mm , a unique feature that makes the car distinctive and probably the only one of its kind. The front has been upgraded with power steering and MacPherson struts and the entire drivetrain comes from a Volvo 965 from the 1994 model year, i.e. a 3.0-liter straight six in combination with an automatic transmission, diff-axle rear axle and ABS brakes . Furthermore, the car has been retrofitted with modern systems such as cruise control, remote locking, alarm and reversing camera . The entertainment and comfort side includes a radio/CD with Bluetooth function, older navigation system and interval wipers.
The odometer reading is stated to be 2,132 km, which according to the seller corresponds to the mileage after completion. Known ownership history is two previous owners before the conversion. The car placed second in Sweden's most beautiful car in Ronneby 2019 and has a report in the magazine Bilsport no. 2 2019.
