Simple tips for getting the most out of your photography
Bidders HighwayJanuary 20, 2023 12:09
Once you have decided to sell your car, we are there to help. At Bidders Highway you can choose to photograph your car yourself and will of course get free access to our photo guide. But taking over 100 detailed, good pictures can be difficult if you are not used to it, so we are happy to put you in touch with one of our photographers who specialise in exactly this type of car. They are located all over the country and we help you book an appointment.

Even if you don't take the pictures yourself, there is a lot you as a seller can do to make them extra good. Here are some tips.

Preparation
Investing an extra hour in preparing your car or motorcycle for photography is incredibly effective and important. Make sure you have ticked off the points below before the photographer arrives, and the pictures will be better and the photo shoot will run more smoothly.

Clean car
Make sure your car is properly washed. All dirt and debris will show up in the pictures, and we recommend going a step further than a simple home wash and actually going for a full detailing. This pays off in the long run and makes a big difference to the pictures. The cleaning should cover the exterior, interior, and don't forget the engine bay.

Photo location
Photographing a car in its proper environment enhances the feeling and the car's personality. Before the photographer arrives, we recommend thinking ahead and finding a nice spot where the car can stand out while also providing a nice setting. If the car is not drivable, make sure instead that the location where it will be photographed is clean and tidy.

Documentation and spare parts
Being able to present documentation, old photos, receipts and keys in pictures gives a significantly better overall impression.

Time
It's good not to be in a hurry. Expect a thorough photo shoot to take about 2 hours.
