Bug Run 2026 –a weekend filled with VW joy at Mantorp Park
When Volkswagen culture comes together
This year's Bug Run offered a wonderful event as usual - Cruising on the track, 5-man races, wonderful meetings, fantastic cars and a party camping with a really nice atmosphere set the tone for a day where VW culture had a place in every way. From classic air-cooled icons to modern GTI builds and well-polished enthusiast cars, there was something for everyone who appreciates Volkswagen in some form.
GTI celebration and extra star shine
One of the year's highlights was the Golf GTI celebration, where the new Golf GTI Edition 50 took center stage. Rallycross world champion Johan Kristoffersson was also there, providing extra stardom and the opportunity for both autographs and a cool ride on the track. For many, it was a perfect combination of Volkswagen history, the present and pure driving pleasure.
The cars, the builders and the community
The exhibition area once again showed why Bug Run has such a strong position in car culture. Here, cal look cars, show builds, original cars, air-cooled, water-cooled and new generation car builders met side by side. It is precisely this mix that makes Bug Run special – it is not just about the cars, but about the people behind them.
Cruising, camping and evening atmosphere
When Saturday evening came, it was time for cruising on the Mantorp track, a tradition that truly captures the feeling of the Bug Run. The cars rolled out together, the pace slowed down and the community took over. Then came the pentathlon, camping and that relaxed atmosphere that is often at least as memorable as the cars themselves.
Genuine VW joy from start to finish
Bug Run 2026 was further proof that Volkswagen interest is still strong. It is an event where generations meet, where building styles mix and where each car tells something about its owner. From the track to the campsite, from the exhibition to the cruising – this year's Bug Run delivered exactly what makes the meetup so special: community, engine noise and genuine VW joy.
Thank you for this weekend and see you at the next event!
