A garage with two Mustangs and a Corvette

Featured cars
If you were asked to name two American classics, which ones come to mind first? Chances are you'd say Mustang and Corvette. Besides being so iconic in themselves that no manufacturer name needs to be mentioned, these two cult cars are each a piece of Americana and a dream for the most discerning car enthusiast.

Now imagine having the privilege of owning one of each in your garage. That was exactly the case for
the seller of not just one, but three lots on Bidders Highway.
– Five years ago I sold my company and wanted to realise the dream of having a
garage full of cars, the seller tells us. I bought a number of cars from the USA.

The cars were a Chevrolet Corvette from 1964 and two Ford Mustangs – a Fastback from 1965
and a convertible of the same year. The seller describes the cars as favourites and
the models as ones that have ”beckoned” when it comes to American enthusiast cars.
– When I also got hold of both a convertible and a Fastback at the same time, I simply found it hard
to say no, he adds with a laugh. The Mustang convertible has a very unusual
colour combination which I think is very elegant. It's tasteful with this
dark green, with beige interior.

As for his Poppy Red Fastback (which, according to several surveys, is the most
sought-after colour in the model's history), the GT conversion was also appealing,
together with the ”Pony” interior and the Edelbrock upgrades. With the Corvette it was
simply the model itself that prompted the purchase.
– I thought it was cool, simply put. I can't imagine any other Corvette model
than the Stingray, from 1963 to 1967. In my opinion, this is the real Corvette.

The cars came home to Sweden bit by bit, as he describes it, and initially stood
unused before being made roadworthy.
– Eventually I got around to it and prepared them, and had the cars inspected so
they were ready for Sweden, he continues. At the same time my health deteriorated quite
considerably, which means I now have great difficulty walking and getting around. All of these are manual as well,
which isn't ideal for me either.

This is the reason the cars are now going to auction on Bidders Highway. As for
buyers, the seller sees it as unlikely that the trio will end up with one and the same owner
again. However, he would love to see them go to an enthusiast and someone who will look after
each respective car.
– I drive a Volkswagen Tiguan for everyday use, he concludes with a smile. It's perfect,
it has a high step-in and an automatic gearbox!
