The factory in Huskvarna built motorcycles from the early 1900s, and the brand's reputation rests on two things: plain, well-made lightweight two-strokes for everyday riding, and a competition record that made Husqvarna a dominant force in motocross and enduro through the 1960s and 70s. Swedish-built competition bikes from those years are the most sought after today, while the pre-war lightweights have their own devoted following. Production in Sweden ended in the late 1980s, when the name passed to Cagiva in Italy.
