Mercury was Ford's mid-price American marque, and at Bidders Highway you can both buy and sell one at auction. The brand was created in the late 1930s to bridge the gap between everyday Fords and upmarket Lincolns, and remained in production into the 2010s.

For enthusiasts, the 1950s cars carry the most weight. The Mercury Eight of the turn of the decade became a cornerstone of American custom culture, and chopped, lowered examples are among the most recognisable postwar cars anywhere. The Monterey and Montclair capture fifties styling at its most confident, with generous chrome, two-tone paint and smooth V8 power, while the sixties Comet shows a lighter, more compact side of the marque. Later cars such as the Capri and Monarch long lived in the shadow of the older models, but are gaining attention from younger collectors.
