Basic information and history
Domestically sold Volvo 1800 S from 1963 which has received new paint and interior and is today in a fine bodywork-wise condition and of course free from rust. The current owner bought the car back in 1986 and has carried out a large part of the renovation on his own. The car has been unused in a warm garage for several years and has now been brought out to find a new enthusiastic owner.
- Domestically sold Volvo 1800 S from 1963
- Bodywork has been renovated and new interior has been installed
- Idle for a long time and now looking for a new enthusiastic owner
Equipped with Volvo's four-cylinder B18B of approx. 95hp/145nm mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox and rear wheel drive.
Condition
Current owner informs that the body is free from rust and that the rocker panel on the left side has a wave-shaped damage in the sheet metal. However, the paintwork is undamaged. The paintwork is otherwise described as being in very good condition and the undercarriage has been rustproofed. However, minor wear and tear can be seen in the photo album. All chrome is described as being in good condition, apart from a small dent in a molding. During the renovation, the car was sanded clean and all rust was repaired. Paint company carried out the paintjob. Front and rear windows are in very good condition. The rear window has minor scratches from what is thought to be an ice scraper. The rims are in good condition and the tire pattern is described as good.
The red interior is brand new and in very good condition. Unfortunately, some trim has come off on the inside of the tailgate, but is easy to glue in place. The chairs are in good condition with no wear. Steering wheel, buttons and controls as well. Also door sides in good condition. Inner ceiling is without damage. Original temperature gauge for water and oil is unfortunately out of order. A replacement part is included with the car, however the function of the part is unknown.
The car has been stored for a long time and this year was brought out to be exercised before being sold. Engine is described as running, but not completely clean. The clutch pedal thickens slightly. The brakes pull sideways. The handbrake, on the other hand, feels good. A minor leakage of brake fluid from the clutch cylinder and auxiliary servo has been observed.
Service history
The previous, now deceased, owner had this vehicle as the apple of his eye and is said to have serviced it exemplary. Unfortunately, there is no history, however, the current owner is in the family and known for the care of the car. Last inspection was carried out on 2018-06-14.
Summary
Volvo 1800 S from 1963 which had its body and interior renovated. The previous owner has unfortunately passed away and the current owner is therefore selling your father's eye stone. The car has been standing for a longer period and is in need of simple mechanical love and can then become a very nice specimen, ready to get out on our beautiful roads again!
