Basic information and history

In the summer of 1947, more specifically on Tuesday 10th of July, a group of journalists gathered in the staff dining room at SAAB's office in Linköping. In honour of the day, they will be the first to view the second prototype, named 92002, of what later became the SAAB 92. This is the company's first passenger car and the idea behind the car was contemporary with a modern construction at a low price.

Modern solutions included front-wheel drive, transverse engine, torsion springs and a self-supporting body. On top of this, the aerodynamics were also incredibly good for their time. Model 92A was built until November 52, when the 92B with a large number of updates began to be built. Updates included a larger rear window, moved gas tank, better seats, trunk lid and more colours to choose from. Between the years 1950 and 1956, a total of 20,128 SAAB 92s were produced.

Hello, The comments below are questions to the seller. I really like your car and am considering bidding but as I live in the uk I have some questions regarding storage and shipping. 1 will you be willing to store the vehicle whilst I arrange transport? (Weeks not months) 2 can the spare parts be boxed up and put inside the vehicle for transportation? 3 are the documents you have the original (not copies) registration certificate? This will be needed for uk customs Thank you Jon Moss

Hi, Thank you, i've put alot of time on the car! 1 sure, no problem! 2, well its allot of parts, all the parts for the 92 would probebly fit in the car, but the rest would probebly be quite hard to get in. 3. Not really sure what you mean but i have reg papers and since i've put it back in to trafic i dont se that it should be any problem. Good luck on the bidding!
