Condition
The car is described by the current owner as being in good working condition and gives a good overall impression. Current owner advises that there are two worse scratches on the left rear fender worth mentioning. There is rust under the paint on the lower part of the right door. Possibly there is some rust behind the chrome strips on the dog legs. An old repair can be found on the left side, behind the rear wheel. The paintwork is in usable condition and somewhat dull but could be improved by polishing. There are some scratches and stone chips in the front. There is information that previous owners may have repainted the car sometime in the 80s. Glass panes are in good condition. Chrome and moldings are straight and fine considering their age. Rims in good condition and the tires have approx. 4-5mm pattern left. The rims were blasted and epoxy painted 6-7 years ago, at the same time as the current tires were purchased and installed.
The interior is in good condition considering its age. Material on seating surfaces is without usual wear and tear and free of damage. The steering wheel is not original but probably comes from a 1964 Valiant. The interior roof is in good condition, but the current owner informs that the roof could recondite it. The speedometer jumps slightly around 80-90 km/h.
Engine is described as being in OK mechanical condition. The car is difficult to start if it has been standing for a long time, and therefore a renovation of the carburettor and fuel pump may be due. Driveline is in good condition but slightly damp from the cover on the rear axle. However, nothing serious in the way of leakage. Gearbox oil and filter as well as oil in the rear axle have presumably been changed 6 years ago when the car was inspected. The brakes should be checked as it pulls to the left when braking. Brake fluid decreases slightly during winter storage, so it is possible that there is a small leak on the wheel cylinder. The current owner has never opened the front brakes, but 6 years ago the rear brakes were changed, including the wheel bearings.
Feel free to look through all the pictures to form your own opinion of the condition of the car. Questions can be easily asked in the question field and answered by the owner himself.
Service history
Oil service was carried out in May 2023 and the car has at least been serviced almost every year by the current owner. The car was inspected in 2018 with blank paper.
Summary
Nice and unusual Plymouth Valiant that gave a lot of joy in the nine years the current owner been driving the car. Now looking for a new owner who wants to continue the journey!
