Basic information and History
Mazda's first RX-7 started its sales in 1978 with its then unique rotary engine and was built in various versions until 2002. In total, over 800,000 RX-7s were produced during these years, something that testifies that there is something special about the concept. Few have escaped to see a video of the legendary winner of Le Mans 1991, the Mazda 787B in its classic green/orange cover flying forward. Of course, this RX-7 is nowhere near as extreme, but clearly shows that rotary engines are something unique of their kind with many wins in motorsport and journalistic awards worldwide.
This RX7 arrived in Sweden in 2007 from Japan and has since had 3 owners. Current owner has had the car since 2009. The meter reading is approx. 66578 km. 1.3-liter double Wankel with sequential twin turbo. Approx. 255hp/294nm weighing in at 1430kg is enough performance-oriented to keep up with traffic. Traction is exemplary with 50/50 weight distribution and a large amount of aluminum throughout its construction.

The equipment designation Touring X means that the car comes with convenient details such as automatic transmission and cruise control. Built for pleasant long rides or cities in front of more extreme lightweight variants such as the RZ. Option-wise, there is a more modern stereo with AUX, AC and sunroof. There is a set of xenon lights to replace the halogen bulbs. Digital workshop manuals for the US version are available to assist when working on the vehicle.

Simpler modifications to the vehicle have been carried out. Boost pressure gauges have received a linearization mod on the coolant temp gauge that makes it show the temperature instead of just settling in the middle. FC Termoswitch to switch on cooling fans manually. Automatic function for the fans still works. The car has received a set of adjustable dampers from Tein, model Super Street. 2.5-inch exhaust system with a slightly larger tail pipe. Engine mounts from Himni Racing. Original mount is included. A faster-reacting air temperature gauge in the intake. Original part is included. Y-pipe from model year 99 for better flow. Original y-pipe is also included. All cooling water goes through silicone hoses, and vacuum hoses have been replaced.
Condition
The car is described by the seller as being in good used condition. The seller informs about, among other things; scratches at the back of the right door which has been fixed, some marks in the form of notches on one side and small dents on the corners at the front. The paintwork is described as having many small scratches, such as washing scratches, some chipping that has been repaired and some larger scratches in the corners of the vehicle, especially the left rear. The designation on the tailgate has wear. The Rozest rims have normal wear. There are marks in the rim on the front right. The tires, Contisport Contact 3, have approx. 3mm pattern left. Lighting parts are in normal condition. Minor marks and stone chips on glass parts are in normal quantity, considering the year and mileage.
Interior wize, it is informed that the seats and chairs have wear. The driver's seat is worn on the entry side. Two joints in the back seat have started to crack. Steering wheel and controls have wear on grip surfaces. Ventilation grille against windshield has a couple of cracks. Film has dropped above the instrument panel, around the mounted boost pressure gauge. Electric adjustable outside mirrors work sporadically. AC unfortunately does not cool.
Mechanically, the condition is good. Engine and gearbox are described as being in good condition. Engine was rebuilt by Rotary Performance when the odometer showed 56079km. However, there is some oil dripping from the engine. Upon inspection, it turns out to be from a non-pressurized part, according to the owner. Charge pressure from the first turbo is slightly low when the secondary unit steps in. It is suspected to be something with the ECU. Gearbox has never had any problems and works as intended. Brakes and pads in good condition.
