Background & informationA large and imposing Ford Galaxie 500 equipped with the coveted 428 (7.0L) Bigblock engine which was an extra option and the last year it could be ordered in a civilian version. The Galaxie came standard with a 302 (4.9L) engine. After 1968, only the police in the USA could order the 428 machine for their interceptor vehicles. In 1968, the Galaxie model received a final facelift before the new generation arrived in 1969. The changes meant that the headlights were mounted horizontally against the 67's vertical headlights, the front grill received a new design and minor updates were made to the interior. There are blemishes, but the car gives a good overall impression. The vinyl top is great.
