In 1957, the Special Riviera model received significantly more standard equipment compared to the previous model year. The standard equipment included signal indicators, an updated oil filter with better flow for the oil, larger air filter, vacuum booster pump, automatic choke and trip meter etc. Buick offered 21 different colors for the 1957 model year, it was possible to get the car 2-ton colored body and also in a 3 color combination! Buick produced 64,425 copies of the 1957 Buick Special Riviera. The starting price for the model was $ 2,704 at launch.
