The Porsche 944 S2, model year 1991 , represents the final development phase of the 944 series and combines a transaxle layout, near-perfect weight distribution and one of the most advanced naturally aspirated four-cylinder engines of the time. The S2 was introduced in 1989 with a 3.0-liter 16-valve straight four-cylinder engine that was the largest series-produced naturally aspirated four-cylinder in the world at the time of its launch. The combination of engine, chassis and transaxle gave the S2 a well-balanced character with high cornering speed and great driving pleasure. The last service was performed in mid-October 2025 and included changing the oil in the engine and gearbox and all filters.
