Basic information and history
In the early nineties, the Audi Coupé S2 marked a clear bridge between the rally heritage and a more civilian GT character. With a five-cylinder turbo engine, permanent four-wheel drive via quattro and a chassis adapted for high speed on varying surfaces, the model quickly became appreciated by drivers with a sense of mechanical refinement. During the same period, ABT in Kempten refined selected examples with its own components and adjustments. According to reports, around fifty cars were manufactured between 1989 and 1991 with a focus on drivability and sustainable power delivery and only a few were sold in Sweden.
This Swedish-sold 1991 Audi S2 Abt Coupé is in fantastic condition. The car has been carefully updated in recent years by well-known Swedish players, including ACE-Competition in Borås and Sellholm Tuning in Köping. The car has well-balanced retained character and driving feel. The seller describes extensive documentation in a binder with a largely comprehensive history. Service has recently been mainly handled by Audi Möller Bil in Västerås, where the team of mechanics has great expertise in the five-cylinder turbo engine cars of the eighties and nineties. The car has driven 150,800 km. The mileage is documented. (The odometer has been replaced after a previous renovation and shows 24,150 km).
