1981 Honda CBX SC06 – Custom Build by Adam Nestor, Award-Winning and Featured in Press

Basic Information and History

This 1981 Honda CBX SC06 is not just a classic powerhouse with its six-cylinder inline engine – it’s a unique custom build, created by renowned motorcycle builder Adam Nestor in 2010. Originally sold new in Sweden, the bike has only covered 1,000 kilometers since the rebuild. While full ownership history is not completely documented, the motorcycle's condition and attention in both press and exhibitions speak volumes.

The build was inspired by the legendary Honda CB1100R and has since won first place at multiple shows, including Elmia, and has been featured in several motorcycle magazines.

Equipment and Features

This is a comprehensive custom build, retaining only the original engine, frame, and fuel tank – everything else has been specially fabricated:

  1. Engine: Bored out to 1150cc. Rebuilt by Sven-Erik Johansson, former chairman of the CBX Club.
  2. Frame: Reinforced and modified to accommodate a single-sided swingarm.
  3. Swingarm & Front Fork: From a Triumph 1050 Speed Triple.
  4. Shock Absorber: Single Öhlins unit.
  5. Exhaust System: Custom 6-into-1 stainless steel full system.
  6. Electronics: From MotoGadget.
  7. Instruments: MotoGadget digital dashboard.
  8. Seat: Custom-built by a professional saddle maker.
  9. Additional Components: Carefully selected parts from near and far, chosen for both function and aesthetics.

Condition

  1. Bodywork: Completely rebuilt, excellent condition, no scratches, dents, or door dings.
  2. Paintwork: Repainted during the rebuild, very high-quality finish.
  3. Glass, Chrome, and Emblems: Excellent condition with no flaws.
  4. Tires and Wheels: In excellent condition, no damage.
  5. (Seat, Panels, Controls): No damage or wear, excellent condition throughout.
  6. Electronics: Fully functional.

Service History

  1. Engine rebuilt during the custom conversion (2010) by a skilled specialist.
  2. No further mechanical restoration has been necessary – the motorcycle is in very good mechanical condition.
  3. Minor oil seepage noted from the cam chain tensioner.
  4. The bike needs to undergo a final inspection before becoming exempt from regular vehicle inspection under current regulations.

Summary

This is a rare opportunity to acquire an award-winning, high-end custom motorcycle with a clear design vision, professionally executed by one of Sweden’s most respected bike builders. The combination of classic Honda CBX six-cylinder performance with modern components from Triumph, Öhlins, and MotoGadget makes this a unique machine – equally suited as a daily rider or collector’s piece.

A guaranteed conversation starter at any motorcycle meet – and just as ready for the garage as it is for the gold medal podium.
