Basic information and history
The Honda CB750K is an iconic name among classic motorcycles and marks a significant era for Japanese engineering . The CB750 series was introduced back in 1969 and the 1979 K variant carries with it nearly a decade of refinement, including the four-cylinder engine and Honda's renowned reliability .
This example is being sold with 86,544 kilometers on the odometer. The previous owner was an elderly man who owned it for a long time.
The CB750K was a large motorcycle even by the standards of the time, making it a comfortable choice for even larger riders. The model often evokes recognition and appreciation among those who remember the superbikes of the 1980s.
Equipment and options
- Two spacious panniers from Hebco Becker (missing keys for pannier locks)
- Dyna 2000 ignition system
- Steel braided brake hoses
- Pod filters instead of airbox
The motorcycle's original engine (RC01) was burning oil but working. To improve reliability, a better used RC04 engine was fitted. Original engine is included and there is no visible difference between them from the outside. The left-hand side switch was replaced last year and the indicators now work flawlessly.
Condition
Body and exterior condition: The paint is in fairly good condition considering its age. There are traces of use and some scratches, but the overall impression is good. The chrome, headlight lenses and emblems are considered to be in good condition and give the motorcycle a classic look.
Tires and rims: The tires are in good condition and the rear tire was replaced last year. The rims are original.
Mechanics and function: The brakes work well and are equipped with steel braided hoses. The controls are intact and the left one has recently been replaced when the indicators did not work - now everything works as it should. The current engine (RC04) runs well and so does the gearbox. The original engine (RC01) is included. Dyna 2000 ignition system and pod filter are installed.
Service history
There is no complete service book for the motorcycle, but the oil and filter were changed two years ago and it has been driven a few miles since then. Only documentation from the current owner is available. The last approved inspection was done on 2018-04-21, but the bike is now both tax and inspection exempt in Sweden .
Summary
With an improved RC04 engine, reliable electronics and options such as the Dyna 2000 ignition system and steel braided brake lines, a classic bike is given more modern reliability. The equipment includes practical Hebco Becker panniers. This is an iconic superbike for the enthusiast looking for a fun-to-ride, classic and well-maintained model, ready for new adventures or a life in the collector's spotlight.
