1975 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray – Matching Numbers

Basic Information and History

This 1975 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray is a classic American muscle car with roots in the sunny climate of Florida. The car was imported to Sweden around 1988 and has since had three Swedish owners. The odometer shows 13,800 km, but the instrument is broken and the mileage cannot be guaranteed. Nevertheless, the car comes with a box full of history, receipts, and Corvette-related memorabilia that provides good insight into the car’s life and care.

Equipment and Options

The Corvette has undergone some modifications that align with its sporty character. Among them:

  1. Front and rear bumpers in flexible fiberglass, replaced in connection with a repaint
  2. New stainless steel exhaust system with afterburners – delivers a fantastic sound
  3. Non-original steering wheel installed
  4. Original interior with only minor flaws
  5. Upgraded vacuum system for the pop-up headlights

Condition

Body & Paint: The body is in very good condition with only minor signs of age. The car was repainted in 2014 and has only been driven about 50 km since then. It is free of dents, scratches, or door dings. Very little rust is present, and nothing serious.

Chassis & Mechanics: The power steering may jerk slightly at idle but works well during driving. Several suspension components have been replaced, including shock absorbers and some bushings. The car feels tight and rattle-free – especially impressive for a 50-year-old vehicle.

Interior: The interior is original and in good, usable condition. The left interior door handle is missing, and some cosmetic touch-ups remain. A dry crack is present in the dashboard, but otherwise, the cabin is well-preserved.

Glass, Chrome & Trim: Windows are flawless. Chrome, moldings, and emblems are in very good condition with only light wear on the door sills.

Wheels & Tires: Minor cosmetic damage to the rims, nothing serious. The tires are about 13 years old but barely used (only 100–150 km).

Technical & Functional:

  1. Engine runs well and always starts
  2. A slight vacuum leak causes a ticking sound from the ignition
  3. Fuel and temperature gauges are not functioning (a new thermostat is included)
  4. All other electronics work, headlights have been restored

Service History

Regular maintenance has been performed, with a lot of work carried out over the years. Oil and filter have been changed before the sale. The braking system has been overhauled, and the master cylinder was replaced about three years ago. The clutch is new, and some bearings in the gearbox were replaced by a previous owner.

There is plenty of documentation and receipts stretching back many years, although the service book is not filled out according to factory intervals.

The car will be roadworthy and inspected upon delivery.

Summary

This is a very nice and well-maintained Corvette C3 Stingray – a classic American muscle car that has only gotten better with time. With its iconic design, rumbling V8 sound, and history from both Florida and Sweden, it offers a nostalgic and engaging driving experience.

The car has matching numbers, which makes it especially interesting for collectors. It’s not in perfect original condition but is well preserved, with a tight chassis and a long list of improvements and maintenance behind it.

An excellent example for anyone looking to enjoy a classic C3 – at shows, on the road, or as part of a collection.
