Basic information and history

With the 1800E, Volvo took a clear step forward with its sports coupé. The E in the model designation stands for the fuel-injected B20E, fitted with Bosch D-Jetronic, which provided both better torque and a more modern driving experience than the earlier carburettor engines. Added to this were disc brakes all round, updated instrumentation, and the characteristic body designed by Pelle Petterson, which has remained essentially unchanged since the P1800 was introduced. For many, the 1970 model year is the most interesting point in the model's history, as the car still has the pure combination of classic design and fuel-injected engine.

This example is Swedish-sold and has been in the same family since 1988. The current owner has had the car since 1999. The odometer reading is 255,000 km and can be guaranteed by the seller. The car has had nine owners in total.

The car has been driven every year, in the range of 1,000 to 3,000 km, and has thus been used continuously rather than left standing. It is in original condition and, according to the seller, has not been rust-repaired, but is well rust-protected. There is no outstanding credit on the vehicle, and deductible VAT does not apply.

Condition

Body and exterior: The paint and body are described by the seller as being in good condition, as are the windows. Around the right headlight, traces of a previous repair are visible, which was already present in 1988. The left side has been repainted in connection with the previously mentioned door repair. The car is stated to be well rust-protected and not rust-repaired.

Interior: The interior is in good condition according to the seller, as are the dashboard and headliner. The rear seat upholstery has been replaced, as has the seat upholstery on a previous occasion, and the elastic webbing in the front seats has been repaired.

Tyres and wheels: Tyres and wheels are stated to be in good condition. New front tyres have been fitted on one occasion, and a complete tyre change has been carried out previously.

Mechanics and function: The engine, gearbox, and brakes are all described as being in good condition. The car is drivable as it stands, the engine starts and runs without issue, the clutch works, and the gearbox shifts flawlessly. The trip meter, seatbelts, exterior lighting, electronics, and sound system all function, and the dashboard is free of warning lights. The electric antenna needs replacing and the windscreen washer does not work.
